Traditionally the women’s institute is seen as the last bastion of the home front, arming women with jam jars, baking cakes, creating needlework and all the while humming along to its theme tune Jerusalem.  Whilst we will bake once in a while, we’re more likely to be jammin’ at the disco than over a copper based pan!

Is there a typical GYWI member?  No, not really, we are women from our twenties to our sixties.  Some are stay at home mothers and some are career girls, the one thing that brings us all together is our passion for fun and friendship and the occasional glass of wine!

There are no set criteria for joining our group, just come along to one of our meetings and find out what we are all about.  The first 3 visits are on us and then its up to you whether you would like to join up which will cost only £31.50 per year.
